Join Us for Worship
Sunday at 9:30 am
Worship is the central activity of Zion Lutheran Church. We gather each Sunday, the Lord’s Day, around Word and Sacrament to celebrate Christ, give thanks for all our blessings, and serve the Lord.
Zion’s worship is a solid blend of traditional liturgy with contemporary excitement for the Lord. Our ministry of music is a core part of each worship service. Both the adult vocal choir and the children’s choir work hard to provide meaningful, inspirational music for our worship of Christ.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday. The great father of the church, Justin Martyr said it best: “We hold our common assembly on the Sun’s Day because it is the first day, on which God put to flight darkness and chaos and made the world; and on the same day Jesus Christ our Savior rose from the dead.”
The Lutheran Church is a sacramental church, believing that the sacraments of baptism and Holy Communion are the means through which God’s grace comes to us through Christ. In accordance with the Apology of the Augsburg Confession “the Mass is celebrated every Lord’s day and on other festivals…” All who are baptized are welcome to receive the body and blood of Christ in the Lord’s Supper. A first communion class is offered to grade-school-aged children each year during Lent.
We believe a person is baptized only once in their lifetime. We accept a Christian’s baptism from any Christian church. Baptism is the act of God claiming a person as his own child. Through that baptism God’s grace and forgiveness is given. All the baptized are united with Christ and promised Easter life. We offer baptism to any searching for the truth that only comes to us through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Baptism is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith.
